How many times have we heard that school shootings and every evil that befalls the public education system are because the Lord has been taken out of the schools? Or, that this latest generation of kids are so bad because “they aren’t allowed to pray in school?”
Is this Biblical? Does God allow our children to be killed, drugged, molested and mislead because the “supreme court” has said that there must be separation between the “church” and state?
That is a ridiculous argument, and not Biblical!
Who can stop anyone from praying? You could be thrown into prison, beaten to within an inch of your life, and still, if you wanted to you could pray! Does that sound like something we’ve read about in our Bibles? Yes, (Mar 13:9, Acts 5:40, 16:37 and many more examples) most of the first disciples of Christ were treated that way, but they continued to pray.
Let’s make this clear, you cannot be stopped from praying, but, you can be stopped from making a show of your praying! As the Bible clearly tells us, this is not the way to pray any ways:
[KJV] Matthew 6:5-6
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Obviously, the prayer in school arguments are false, and mostly used by the false teachers as a way to coax money out of their followers. Filthy Lucre (1 Sam 8:3, 1 Tim 3:3, Tit 1:11, 1 Pet 5:2).
Finally, history shows us that when the “church” and state are not separated, it usually leads the “church” into serious error. From Constantine’s officially adopting Christianity and corrupting it, to today’s version of it, the state chartered 501c3 non-profit corporation, nothing good will come of it, and as the Bible says:
[KJV] James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
[KJV] Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
